Colvin Jeffreys
Internationally acclaimed for 'Dark Ghosts of the Night', Colvin Jeffreys was born in the coal-mining town of Cardiff, some one hundred and sixty kilometres north of Sydney. The son of a New South Wales policeman, he soon discovered his God-given talents for story-telling, often spinning yarns to family members and anyone else who would listen.
Moving to the bush at an early age, he reaped the many benefits of the layback country living. By the time he was twelve years of age, he could drive a car, drive a semi-trailer, shoot a rifle, smoke cigarettes, and tell more yarns. His adult life has taken him to many parts of the world and taught him many things that most people today will never have the opportunity to learn.
A genuine Aussie Larrikin, his thirst for knowledge and adventure has led him into:
Serving in the Royal Australian Air Force;Mastering electronics;
Being Ordained as a Minister of Religion;
Teaching computer technology and programming;
Droving stock in the Outback;
Driving Road-Trains in outback Queensland and New South Wales;
More recently he and his wife served in a humanitarian capacity in Mast Malaysia (on the Island of Borneo), bringing the people of Borneo together in a massive humanitarian effort to feed tens of thousands of refugees made homeless and destitute by a devastating typhoon.
Colvin's experience and knowledge of the continent known as Australia is almost unlimited and this will leap out at you through his writings. Having also lived in America, he has a keen appreciation of the many subtle differences that exist between his two favourite countries. More recently, his time in Asia has added another dimension to the scope of his writing. No other story-teller is better equipped to cleverly intertwine nations and bring exciting stories to the people of the world that will hold you captivated from the first page to the last.
