Someone in the Crowd is an autobiography by author Jim Smith (jim-smith@colpubs.com) covering the first three decades of his life.  Jim was born the youngest of five children in London's East End slums (Bow) in the latter stages of WW2.

Because of the war, Jim's family went from relative security and affluence to extreme poverty. Jim spent time in the poorhouse and children's homes. His dangerous school years included a friend bringing a bomb to the school.

Migrating to Australia in 1960, Jim spent four years in Sydney (becoming involved with gangsters), and four years in the extreme bush, including two years in Arnhem Land, an Aboriginal reserve of over 100,000 square kilometres east of Darwin.

Jim tells a fast moving and interesting story of family life and adventure. It's easy reading and extremely entertaining ...... all of a sudden it's late ..... and you realise you can't put his book down.
